Woodhouse Spa - Carmel

It was a busy evening so when we got there we waited for 5-10 minutes which cut our massages short. I receive massages regularly and this was one of the lowest quality massages I’ve gotten. Keith was a nice and pleasant person but his technique didn’t seem like it was done by someone professionally-trained. When he asked me up front if there were any preferences, I told home I wanted medium pressure and that my neck and shoulders hurt. In response he upsold me on $25 cream that did nothing and said he would check in with me on pressure. The pressure was very soft and never asked for feedback. Early on I expressed that it was too soft and that I needed more pressure, but the pressure didn’t change. I couldn’t tell you what the massage method was either, as he only gave me a back rub very slowly, spent a bit of time on my shoulders and neck, and washed my feet quickly. There was no time spent on legs, feet, arms, hands, head or face. I’ve received much better airport massages. I always tip well because I know this is a difficult job, especially if the person has worked long hours. Woodhouse is not a cheap massage, and advertises their Body Balance as a Swedish Massages. This was far from that. I don’t think I can see myself going back there again. I left feeling the same as when I got there, but disappointed that I had just spent over $300 on a couples massage. This photo they post makes it look like a spa, but this isn’t a spa.

I’ve been to a few other locations and I will say this location has been the worst experience. I paid for an 80 min deep tissue massage and I don’t think there was a single point I got an actual deep tissue massage. It was a lot of stretching and her having me press on pressure points myself. She forgot to use the hot stones on me and I had to remind her…. (Which made totaled to 10 minutes… maybe) She was a very sweet lady, but for what I paid I am as tight as ever and did NOT get any relief from that massage. I would definitely recommend a different location!

Woodhouse has a lovely ambiance with a calming atmosphere and quiet rooms that make it easy to relax. However, the massage itself was just okay - it lacked the pressure and technique I was hoping for. If you’re looking for a peaceful environment, this spot delivers, but the massage experience might not be as satisfying as the setting.

I’ve visited Woodhouse locations across the country, and unfortunately, this location fell short of the high standards I’ve come to expect. It is notably smaller with fewer amenities, and during my visit, it felt quite crowded. The quiet rooms had very limited seating, which detracted from the relaxing atmosphere. Additionally, the receptionist who escorted me to the locker room did not provide any guidance on how to use the lockers or explain the process, which was a bit surprising given Woodhouse’s usual commitment to exceptional service. The staff overall seemed less attentive and engaged compared to other locations I’ve visited, which made the atmosphere feel somewhat off. Lastly, my massage did not meet expectations. Despite requesting a deep-pressure massage, it was very light and lacked the pressure I had specified. Overall, I was disappointed with this experience and would not recommend this location. I would suggest traveling to the Dayton location, where I’ve consistently had much better experiences.

Marvelous evening at the spa. I treated myself to a sports massage after a ski trip and booked with Constance. After walking in, you can tell right away it’s a really nice place and not one of those weird buildings turned spa. The vibe was set right away. A hostess directed me to their changing room and taught me how to use their lock system+ When I was done changing into my robe she directed me to their quiet room. Fire place going, tea, water, mints, stress relief coloring books made this a great start. Then my massage with Constance, she was really pleasant and started/ended the massage with essential oil sniffs. The massage was pretty good, but I wish there would have been more pressure. In retrospect, i think that’s my fault for not asking. Anyway I left the room super relaxed and was directed to stay in the quiet room for as long as I’d like. It was a real treat to be able to access that room to rest my eyes, drink some water, and really soak in the relaxation in peace. Afterwards I headed back to the changing room where I decided to take a shower and lather on some lotion, and furthermore take my time soaking in the relaxation. They have an essential oil shower spray that was amazing! It was super nice to take my time in there and have access to combs, hair ties, all the little extra things. After departing they gave me a little gift bag of goodies since it was my first time visiting. I told them right then I was very impressed with the whole experience and they do a very good job. I don’t frequent the spa often and they were awesome at directing me around and helping me feel empowered. Very clean, very quiet, very nice experience. I would recommend and go back.

I had a facial (Jessica) and a massage (John). The services were exceptional! I felt relaxed and rejuvenated and didn’t want to leave! Thank you to everyone at Carmel Woodhouse for a delightful experience.

Need some self care??? Sometimes you have no idea how bad you need a massage, until you have one. This spa has a great environment, the staff is exceptional and Alysha had a great touch. The bath robes were so soft and the facility is super clean and updated. Book your appointment right now-you won't be disappointed.

Brad did one of the best deep tissue massages I have ever had. This was a gift card from my hubby. So impressed. I wish it were more affordable so I could be a regular customer. $180 for 80 minutes is too expensive for self-care.
