This review is both a week and a year too late, as this is based on the second incredible experience I had here! Amber is the KWEEN of your fantasy hair color dreams! She absolutely has an eye for making your vision a reality, and taking her own creative freedoms to amp up the customization to match your face shape so you walk out looking and feeling like a whole new you. Honestly couldn’t hav e asked for a better outcome and feel so luck to be within driving distance of this salon now. A TRUE GEM OF OKC!!! PS they also do nails, and everyone who works here is a whole vibe. #fabulous

I want to be clear that this review is not a reflection of the salon as a whole but of Kendra Newman. I went to this salon for the first time 6 months ago and had a great experience with her, but this past Sunday was my first appointment since and it was the complete opposite. I booked a haircut which on their website included a wash and blow dry. I asked for a trim and to define my curtain bangs. When I got there, she had someone with her who was obviously waiting on her to be done so they could leave, which was strange. I started by letting her know my hair was two days past a wash, and she responded that she was going to do a dry cut because “it was cold outside.” (At the time, I didn’t understand that meant no wash and dry, just a cut.) I assumed that meant she would cut it first and then wash and dry after and do final trims. So I said okay. (They don’t straight up offer dry cuts for booking, when I talked to the salon owner she said that is usually something requested by the client.) For some reason, she blow dried my greasy hair and then started cutting. After about 10 minutes she had me look at it. My curtain bangs were not even, so I told her that. She messed with them again, and again I said they weren’t even. On the third time she said that my hair is just thicker on one side and that I can trim it once I’m home. I had been there for 25 minutes and she told me I was good to go. I resigned to just trim my bangs once I was home, but was confused on why I wasn’t being offered a wash. I thought maybe it would be a different price but she charged me the full $55 plus tip. I figured the booking was my fault and am very non confrontational so I left my normal tip. Once I got home though I got upset, she did not part my hair correctly and also chopped it very unevenly at the bottom, as well as my bangs which I knew I would have to redo. Please see the photos I took right after I got home. I also went to the website and saw that I DID book the correct appointment, I just was not offered the other half of the services. I left a message and got a call back from the owner, who was very kind. She offered to have me come in and redo my cut, but I declined because I am done with people messing with my hair. I decided that I would rather do it myself from now on. She said she could not provide me with a refund as Mrs. Newmans accounts were separate from the rest of the salon due to her position. I don’t know what this means. This morning I got a text from Mrs. Newman asking if she could redo my services, to which I explained the situation and why I was asking for a refund - I just wanted 50% of my money back for the services I didn’t receive. I was upset about the cut but I’m not the kind of person to ask for everything back when you at least showed up. After my message, she responded asking if I had cashapp and sent me $20. I was confused and checked my account, showing I had been originally charged $66 for the appointment after tip. I responded and said “I received $20, but it shows I was charged $66?” To which she said “I can offer you a cut, complementary cut with another stylist as I gave you courtesy to come back and allow me to fix the haircut.” I don’t want that as I told the owner. I don’t want another haircut I don’t want anyone else taking a chance with my hair I just wanted my money back for what I paid and didn’t receive. I explained myself to her again, and sent her the same pictures that I’ve attached here, to which she copied and pasted the same message as before as a response. There has been no apology by her and no understanding, no conversation about what went wrong. I’ve worked in customer service positions for a long time and have never treated anyone and have never been treated myself as rudely as Mrs. Newman has treated this situation. This is nothing against the salon but I wish that I could have received my money back for the services I didn’t get. I avoided writing this since Sunday because I understand it’s hard to work in a service industry but it is NOT hard to make things right or apologize.

Excellent service for a wash, cut and dry. Julia G took a very personalized approach to my hair to even out my bangs and face frame. I loved her approach and explanation as she was cutting the style. She took her time to ensure everything was even and to my liking. I would highly recommend her to everyone!!

Zaley was amazing. She listened to me and offered her experience to help me decide how we would move forward with my hair color and cut. I am so happy with the results. Definitely a Zaley fan!!

Everyone here is a class act. From high end extensions to men’s cuts they do it all! The location is perfect in downtown and they are very good a referring to an another stylist if something is not their specialty. The customer definitely comes first here. I cannot say enough good things! Don’t trust your style to anyone else.

I’ve been going to this salon for 10 years, and wouldn’t recommend anyone else! Kathryn is my stylist, but I would see anyone and trust them all there! I love their eagerness to always make the next experience better than the last, it’s always clean, and such a fun atmosphere. They do fun hair colors, makeup, hair for events, blowouts, balayage, and extensions, and I always enjoy seeing the beautiful people that work there. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

Scheduled an appointment with Amy and left with the best color I've had in a long time. I loved how she didn't rush and was gentle with my hair. Her skill and passion shows in her work.
