Traumatic experience.... I've been getting my hair done here for the past 6 years, and I have never had any bad experiences and was treated very well. I was recommended to Madison as the go-to person for hair lighting. WORST MISTAKE EVER! She did not want to take the time to properly do my hair... she was in a rush, and because of this, my beautiful long hair was fried, and SO much hair pulled out. A ton of breakage occurred there in the salon, I had a huge pile of broken/fried hairs on my lap as my hair was drying! You never put bleach on already bleached hair!! That's a huge nono!! So much hair was pulled off my skull trying to get done with me faster because she had another client coming in and was pulled and just ripping my hair out so hard to get though my hair appointment that it's been days later and I can't barely lay to sleep sideways on my head on because of the pain from the comb pulling she had done... So much hair was yaked out... I'm not even a tender headed person! I'm completely in shock, and this is absolutely unacceptable. My hair, which I've been growing out for 10 years,may need to be cut completely cut off. I am traumatized from the experience.... I have not gone a night, not sleeping sense my appointment, and I don't know how many times I've cried sense then and tired of putting ice caps on the sides of my head.... We go to a hair professional to be taken care of... my experience with Madison was anything but that. I wish all of this was just a horrible nightmare. Please, everyone, be extremely careful with her..she is not looking after the wellbeing of her clients what so ever and wants to take the quick, easy way for herself.

Last week I went to The Strand for a haircut and had Helen. I’m just gonna say….shes pretty freaking amazing! Not only did she give me super cool and awesome bob and wonderful bangs, but when I almost fainted mid-appointment, she handled it like a pro—so calm, kind, and caring. She made me feel safe and still managed to make my hair look incredible despite the little “i’m gonna pass out lol” event. Highly recommend her (especially if you have low iron)!

Won't come back again, recommended MariEllen again for myself because first time my hair looked amazing! Horrible. It's butchered and as it's slowly growing it's way worse!

I came in today for a deep tissue massage with Crystal and had a fantastic experience. The friendly woman at the front desk (whose name I didn’t catch, unfortunately) immediately greeted me when I arrived and checked me in. The waiting area had a large display of pink items for Breast Cancer Awareness, which stood out to me because it was not only thoughtful but really cute. Crystal started my appointment right on time and was warm and welcoming. She took the time to start my appointment with a brief consultation to discuss any areas I wanted extra attention on (hel-lo, shoulder tension!) and to ask about my pressure preference. The massage itself was incredible. We chatted a bit during the service but I definitely felt like she was letting me set the pace of the conversation. When I was talkative, she was, too; but when I quieted down because I was super relaxed, she let the conversation trail off. I appreciated that immensely because sometimes too much/too little conversation can really put a damper on the entire experience. Crystal achieved the perfect balance. Most importantly, though - I feel SO much better, physically and mentally, after my service. On a scale of 1-10, my entire experience was no less than a 14. Highly highly recommend.

I had heard a lot of good things about this place, but my most recent visit went HORRIBLY. First of all, I was scheduled to meet with stylist Keely on a Tuesday, so I arrived Tuesday (and waited 30-45 min), then was told that my stylist had made a scheduling mistake and I needed to come back Thursday. I work and go to school full-time so I don't have a lot of extra time, but I got over it because I've worked two jobs before and know the stress of double-booking yourself. BUT THEN I came back on Thursday and asked for a basic partial highlight. There were orange, brassy patches throughout my blonde hair, and because I had left the salon with wet hair, I didn't notice how bad my hair looked until my hair dried when I got home. Upon realizing how terrible my hair looked after spending close to $100, I texted Keely hoping she'd offer to fix it. I was then told by the stylist that I could come back IN A WEEK but she'd have to charge me another full color service (no offer to fix it for a discounted price or gratis which I think should've been offered!). After texting with Keely and being told pretty much 'too bad it's your problem now' (not a direct quote but a basic summary of her texts), I tried calling The Strand just to be put on hold and then hung up on (not surprised as I've read many negative reviews about the attitudes of the front desk ladies). This entire experience was frustrating and disappointing and I wasted a lot of time, money and tears. I'd definitely go to another salon, Columbia has tons!

Taylor always takes care of my girlz. It’s hard to find that person that really knows how to make you look the way you envision so they are glad that they found her. Thanks Taylor.

Shannon is awesome!! She does a great job and she is always so nice and kind. The staff their are also wonderful. And it always smells soooo good in there 😂

I was referred to Keely and am thrilled with her. I went to several stylist and could never get the right color. I explained what I was wanting to Keely and she gave me everything I wanted! That was a year ago and I’m a client for life! Thank you!
