Went for the first time last night, it was an awesome experience! The water journey was great and super relaxing. I liked the cold plunge more than I thought I would!! My massage therapist Jason was amazing. Would definitely come back to book him again. All of the front desk staff were also super helpful and nice and overall the atmosphere was very calming, loved the waiting area for the massage rooms. I felt the locker rooms were a bit small, but otherwise everything was awesome.

I really wanted to like this place, I had heard really great reviews of it from friends that had gone here. I felt as though I had a subpar experience for a few different reasons. One being that when I checked in at the front desk, there was a queue of people also being checked in, and it made me feel rushed since the time you have at the spa is only for the allotted time slot you reserve in their booking window.
It was my first time going, and when I asked questions about the lockers, use of e-readers, what the process for the water journey was, I was told to just read the signs on the walls. Everyone was really polite, but it just felt very businesslike. When I got to my assigned locker, it was empty (assigned lockers are supposed to have a robe, shoes, towels, and water glass) and there didn't seem to be an easier way of getting in touch with the spa staff without going out of the locker rooms to the main lobby check in area.
It was a clean facility and the hot tubs were nice. When I was able to find a staff member, they were polite and answered my questions. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. But I do think that for the price the consumer pays, there are other facilities in nearby areas of Rhode Island that you can get a better deal at. One thing that counter-acted the relaxing nature of the spa was the sense of urgency to leave and shower for the next wave of appointments coming in during the next time slot. I'm really not one to post negative reviews, and all of this information was communicated to The Bodhi Spa in their post-experience survey directly. I'm hoping this honest review gives others a realistic expectation for what they might encounter at the Bodhi Spa.

Really not worth it. Honestly a waste of my $200.
The facility is esthetically very pretty but I’m here to be serviced.
Had a 60 minute long massage and they lady did whatever she wanted to. She’d ask about pressure. I’d say medium/hard.
She’d do it for 30 seconds then go back to light soft touches.
Had to ask twice then just stopped.
I’d say my heel or my lower back. They’d get 30 second of attention. Then stopped.
There was ZERO consistency to the massage. On my left side she would touch my arm for 5 minutes. The right side only 1-2 minutes.
Same for other body parts AND she touched my neck/face area after massaging my feet without washing her hands.
I also said TOUCH because there was literally just no massage happening.
I honestly left more frustrated and was not relaxed during it because it was clear this lady was not going to listen to me. Which stressed me out. My husband was with me. It was a couples massage. And we get them often. Once a month probably. I know a good consistent massage. And this was just a lady rubbing lotion on me to be honest. Paying $100+ for that ($200 for both) is just unacceptable. Don’t let the pictures fool you. My husband also agreed about the consistency but we had two different masseuses

My massage therapist Kristi was great! She listened to what i needed and was very consistent with her work. I left feeling 100x better than when I went in. I've also done the water journey and really enjoyed that experience, but it does book out quickly so it requires some planning ahead. The front desk staff has always been kind and helpful in my visits and the locker rooms are always fully stocked and very clean.

I went to Bodhi Spa with my team from work and our visit was planned months in advance (it was an end of year treat from our boss). The morning of our visit, a few of us received text messages stating our services were canceled due to a call out. After some back and forth that morning (literally 7:45am for services starting at between 8 and 10), they were able to offer half services (30 min) in place of full (60 min) services for 2/5 with the others remaining full services. Upon arrival, we were greeted with unfriendly staff, that made it feel like we caused a problem or it was our fault they had an issue with the spa. It felt like they didn't really care and wanted us to shut up and just accept what they had to offer. After getting settled into the spa, the actual services received were wonderful. I had a massage from Kylie and it was amazing!
In the water journey, my boss had also coordinated a fruit platter for us, and the spa clearly forgot this and we had to ask about it. Then when they brought it in, it was in grocery store packaging and it just felt like such an afterthought.
Even after all this, the spa has yet to respond to my boss's feedback (almost two weeks with no reply to two emails). It is honestly very disappointing considering the cost of services and the expectation & precedence the spa seems to set for itself. I would not recommend this spa...you can find better for the same price and with staff that will treat you with respect and kindness.

Our experience was amazing!!! My skin feels amazing and so clear!!! The cold plunge really helped take the toxins out of my body and the eucalyptus oils smelt AMAZING in the steam room and saunas. Also, the two women working (Mia and Vilma) were incredibly nice and inviting. They explained the all the benefits of the cycle and even helped us with some work from school!!! 10/10 recommend especially if Vilma and Mia are working 😂. I will definitely be going again!!!

We (husband and I) absolutely love Bodhi Spa, we’ve been to the Newport one and also the one in Providence twice and have done the Water Journey. Tonight though there was a group of 4 women that would NOT be quiet and they were quite loud. We could not escape their “talking” , we could hear them in the saunas, steam room, etc. one of the employees came through and told them about the whisper policy but they did not make the attempt to allow the 8 other people there who were probably there to escape and relax any tranquility. I was so looking forward to a relaxing night and instead just left super annoyed, quite upsetting. Employees should perhaps be a bit more forceful with the policy, not fair to everyone else.

Don’t miss this incredible oasis of relaxation in downtown Providence! Bodhi Spa is a delight for the senses from the moment you walk up & see their oversized wooden door that welcomes you. Get in at least 15 mins early so you have time to check-in & enjoy the locker area. Upon check-in you’re greeted with a warm hand towel & they help answer any questions you might have.
During your booking they get your sizes so when you arrive a locker is awaiting you with a robe and slides. There’s ample showers & mirror space for you to rinse off before and after the spa. Plenty of toiletries are provided and attendants are present and available for any requests. One amazing feature they have is a quick dry tumbler to dry off your bathing suit if you do the water journey!
The water journey includes 2 hot mineral jacuzzis, 1 cold plunge, a steam room, dry sauna and infrared sauna. It’s a relaxing quiet atmosphere where silence is encouraged. Unfortunately sometimes other guests are inconsiderate of others experience and are loud which can detract from the experience. Staff does actively manage noise levels but can only do so much.
Massage and facial experiences are top notch. Sarah F has absolutely magical hands that soothe any ailment. She provides one of the best massage experiences I have ever had. I enjoyed a facial with Brynne who has a gentle touch & provided a super comprehensive yet relaxing facial experience. My skin felt incredibly hydrated and supple with a glasslike dew - absolutely amazing!
If you’re in need of a moment of calm and leisure Bodhi Spa is the best place to do it in Providence!
