Spa Kalahari & Salon

This is my second time going to kalahari spa and it was a great experience both times. Would’ve rated it a 5 but the outdoor heated pool wasn’t working at the time so that was a bummer. I did want to mention Monica M, I got the relaxation massage and she was the sweetest and made the experience 10x better definitely rate her 5 stars!

Please know I don't write negative reviews. I like to yelp positive reviews and boost ups businesses. When something is wrong take it up w management to fix. However we tried that and I can't have someone have this experience me and my husband had here. So proceed with caution when booking here. For our anniversary we drove 2 hours to this spa and booked massages and facials. I got email confirmations the day before. They ask you to show up 30 mins before the appointments so we left our hotel and planned on getting there 30 mins early. HOWEVER when we got into the car from our hotel we received an email that said they are cancelling our spa day. No warning. Less than an hour before the appointments. She claimed to have called my phone but my number wasn't working. So since we were already in the car we drove over and spoke to them in person. They aren't remorseful. They aren't sorry that we booked this romantic weekend and drove 2 hours and they cancelled it without warning. They didn't offer any discount on future appointments. They only offered us to sit in their hot tubs or whatever as a way to make it up to us. We had a nice hot tub at the hotel we were staying at. We wanted our massages and facials!! I was in tears. It ruined everything. And cause they didn't give any warning they cancelled it we couldn't get any last min bookings at other spas in the poconos. HOWEVER....we drove to mount airy and they booked us appointments for the following day. And the woman at the front desk was wonderful. Let us use their pool for the day cause she felt so sorry for us. And gave us a discount and they didn't even do anything wrong! My facial w Lexi at mount airy was fantastic. So please. Go to mount airys spa if you're looking for professionalism and relaxation.

While I did enjoy my first time here, I really can’t say about my second - and will likely be my last. I purchased a salt therapy and hydrotherapy pass on both visits. I was the only person in the salt room on both occasions. To my surprise on my second visit (I had my cellphone in my hand while waiting to be called into the salt room so that I could do some reading) I was forced to put my phone in a locker or else I wasn’t allowed in the salt room…? My phone is water dust and weather resistant, there are no worries about it breaking, but was told I’m not allowed to have it on me. But my Apple Watch which is no different and was allowed? I could understand if other people were around not to use the phone, but I had to sit there and not do any of my reading like I did the first time just because the attendant didn’t want me bringing my phone in while I sat there alone. On my way out I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip- and this time I said no, it was evident that she became upset and short with me after that. Visited twice within two weeks and was hoping to make this a regular thing but after the treatment I received I won’t be going back. It’s a shame because it’s a nice place albeit expensive. They don’t care about customer retention

Truly one of the best spa experiences ever! I got a 50 minute pedicure and it was amazing. The pricing was on point and the friendliness of the staff especially Raquel was superb.

Went here with my 19 year old daughter for a spa day! While I had an amazing time, my daughter did not. I booked two 50 min spa pedi for both of us. Our attendees were very good, yet they were unsure if my daughter was allowed to come into the back relaxation area with me or to use the facilities? I had also received a 50 min relaxation massage with Amanda that was above expectation! She was superb! I highly recommend Amanda! The whole facility is so beautiful and a hidden gem! The place is spotless and so clean! The ladies locker room and showers are so so nice! The hydro therapy jacuzzi is simply amazing too! My biggest complaint nothing as far as the use of the facilities was explained to me upon arrival and my daughter was not given a bathrobe or slippers. Only I was. The locker room attendee was too much in our business and then when I checked out I was put on the spot to ask if I wanted to leave a tip, so I did.. She did not really deserve one, as she made my daughter and I feel uncomfortable during our stay. Thank goodness for another member that was receiving services that confirmed that my daughter and I were allowed to use all facilities except salt room. Last but not least, this is about the parking lot, there should be designated areas for the spa and or valet services as noted on the website for guests. The whole entire parking lot was a complete mess and three inches of ice end to end! KALAHARI should do better! While it was Presidents’ day, I am surprised no one fell outside, as my car almost got stuck on the ice! Not sure if I will return!

First time here, had a fabulous spa pedicure with Katie. She went out of her way to make sure I had an excellent experience. While we talked, I found out that she is an aesthetician. I would not hesitate to book a facial service (or another pedicure!) with her in the future. The spa’s quiet waiting space is so relaxing and the women’s locker room was immaculately clean. Looking forward to my next visit!

The bathroom looked clean but it smelled like urine. They should use better cleaning technology and the corners of the rooms behind the beds are very dirty. My nose was irritated. There was a lot of dust. The games for children give you credit to buy poor quality candy with lots of artificial coloring and sugar. Everything you earn in the game is not useful at all, just recycled plastic. Nothing good for children. Thanks, kalahary. The rest is excellent.

Nicole was wonderful! She focused on my shoulder issues and worked the knots that were causing my pain. She was so patient with me as I explained to her my issues. My only regret is that I live in New York and can’t make her my masseuse on a regular basis!
