Booked a facial for myself and a massage for my husband for my birthday. Arrived and was told the men’s spa and sauna area were under construction and unavailable. Also the hot tub was not working and had been drained. So our only option was to be at the cold lap pool. Showers were cold and the facial was 38 mins with power tools intermittently buzzing. Was offered 20% off but still paid hundreds of dollars for a horrible experience. Will not be back.

The hammocks by the pool are a nice place to relax after spa treatments. Nice outdoor pool and hot tub. Indoor pool is pretty spacious as well. Lovely relaxation lounges and sitting rooms. Definitely a great place to be pampered.

The best bang for your buck is purchasing the day pass here. And its valid for the entire day from 6 am to 9 pm. Its only $30. Free surface parking lot. I came here after a long day of wine tasting and ended the night in the outdoor hottub. Indoor pool and sauna and steam room. It was a very relaxing last day in vermont experience. All of the amenities are super clean.

This place has customer service completely figured out. Every employee was friendly, helpful, and skilled. Here in VT it is very difficult to hire and retain good employees, but you would never know this spending a day at the Spa at the Inn at Essex. We had a great couples massage, cleared our pores in the dry sauna, devoured a tasty lunch outside at the Tavern, and spent the rest of the afternoon soaking up sun by the pool. The chairs were comfortable! There were towels a plenty! The guy at the cafe was patient with our embarrassingly high maintenance coffee order! This was a perfect way to treat ourselves (prices are not cheap, but with this level of quality how could they be?) on our anniversary.

Booked services for myself and nieces two months in advance as we were traveling in from Colorado. Called spa twice the day before to confirm…got VM, never got a call back. Shows up for our appointments and was told they cancelled the facials for two of my nieces. Said they called an hour before we showed up but never got a call. Ana at the desk was not only not helpful but had a condescending attitude. Will NEVER go again and absolutely do not recommend. Worst customer service experience.

My sister and I both received the Ultimate Zen and we loved it at the Essex. The spa is lovely and tranquil and my therapist, Robert, was amazing. The service was very relaxing and my skin felt amazing afterwards. We took advantage of the outdoor hot tub and that was perfect as well- gorgeous scenery.

Came here as a birthday gift for my girlfriend. She had a nice massage and I purchased the Day Pass to accompany her after. Nothing negative to say about the staff, or the spa area itself. The sauna, locker room, and steam room were great. The area was also very clean and everyone was very pleasant. The pool and hot tub area though was a different story. Leftover towels, plates of food left on tables, dead plants in pots near the hot tub, mildew, and deteriorating grout in the tiles were very sore to the eye for the price you pay. It made me wonder why the day pass is $50 if they don't bother to use that money to pay for people to help keep the area clean, especially for their hotel guests who are spending $$$ there. On the plus side the water was clean, and the hot tub was very warm. I overall enjoyed the Spa, but in comparison to nearby spas in Quebec (which are cheaper, cleaner, and bigger) I second guess coming back here again to solely use the day pass. The spa area (sauna, massage, rest area, steam room, locker room) I would give a 4/5. The pool/hot tub would be like a 3/5.

I’ve had several services here; I love this spa. I always leave happier than when I arrived. Kayla gave me the best lash lift/tint I think I’ve ever had. My one criticism is that the pedicures aren’t what they could be. They are VERY basic, and my feet aren’t much better than what they were before.
