A friend gifted me a $150 gift card for this place and the gift card says that it NEVER EXPIRES. I made an attempt to book a couples massage last May but had to cancel. (I canceled in enough notice according to their policy and never received a refund either from my deposit) I contacted them left my number countless times and still have yet to hear back from a manager and it’s nearly a year later. Well here I am trying to book for a group session since I still have the gift card and never been to the spa and they’re telling me they have a new system and all their gift cards expire a year later. I asked the manager, Sarah, if there’s anyway I can be accommodated because on my end if a gift card says that it never expires, then I should be able to use it whenever I choose. She offered to give me 10% off. I offered to forward her the shift card and everything. She wouldn’t accept it. 0/10 HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Not only was it poor customer service but also false information provided and now $150 that someone spent can’t be redeemed. Not to mention as a manager, you would’ve profited more being that I’m trying to book for a small group. Never had a poor experience like this at a spa, and I am completely turned off by it.

I was booked a surprise birthday spa day by my friends which was absolutely amazing. The ambiance is incredible and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. My massage was great the massage therapist was very attentive and made sure the pressure level was good throughout the massage. I really enjoyed the jacuzzi, it was very relaxing. The place was clean and I had no concerns with sanitation. My overall experience was very pleasant and I especially enjoyed and appreciated the young lady Eva at the front desk. She was extremely helpful and made sure my experience was amazing. She was very kind with an amazing spirit.

I’d attended this spa before some years back. Staff was much smaller, but pleasant, well run, professional. Today, 3/29/25, I really change my mind. The receptionist is the first impression and this one was not polite really at all. I was skeptical to say something or wondering if I’m in the right place which is confusing because I was. The customer after me actually said something directly about her attitude. I saw a review from 3 weeks ago saying the hot tub/grotto wasn’t working, and you guessed it: you still can’t soak at the Soak Spa. But disregarding. The massage itself was not worth the same cost as the full experience the website offers. The space is small so without the hot tub, you have zero space to share. I got a neck back and shoulder massage and ended up getting all of my limbs lotioned and feet lightly flicked on. I’m no masseuse, but I know my neck back and shoulders. I didn’t even contest it because I was just so over it. The staff seemed tense within their own team and awkward. Idk. Spend your money somewhere worth it

Calls 40 minutes before my scheduled 3 hour service to tell me they can’t perform the services. They’ll send you 8 confirmation emails & texts reminding you of a service but they can’t figure out a backup accommodation on their own team.
Rescheduled the slot on me a few times moving my appointment around. Not reliable and don’t count on them. Awful customer experience and customer service.

It’s a 100% YES from me! I absolutely ADORE the Soak Spa! My husband and I spent a lovely weekend at the Detroit Club and the Soak Spa was the absolute highlight of our getaway. We had an 80 minute couples massage, followed by a soak in their beautiful hot tub. The spa is located in the basement and every inch of it is gorgeous. It’s fancy and luxurious. The staff was so kind and accommodating. You get a robe and a locker for all your belongings and there’s tons of amenities in the woman’s locker room area if needed. There’s also an infrared sauna in there that you can use too! (Same for the mens locker room as well.)
The massage I had was incredible. I usually go to the Beach House Day Spa (prior to my discovery of Soak Spa) but this experience was unlike any other. The massage therapist put so much effort into making sure she was using the perfect amount of pressure. They also used the steamed towels during the massage like 5-6 times, which I LOVED! Now for my favorite part: THE SOAKING TUB! I love hot tubs and I’m constantly searching for new experiences that involve them in Michigan. This soaking tub is HUGE and gorgeous. The most beautiful one I’ve managed to find in Michigan… and the biggest. It’s pretty private and filled with bubbles! I could’ve stayed in there all night. Getting to soak after my massage was the cherry on top of the perfect spa experience. Overall, the soak spa is A+ for service, quality, and aesthetics. If you’re looking for a full on TRUE spa experience, this should be your go to place! I left feeling so pampered!

My daughter took me for my birthday, this place is wonderful. We both got 80 minute massages and afterwards we got into the hot tub and they had a wonderful charcuterie board waiting. We already booked for next month. The two ladies who did our massages we very professional 😊 looking forward to our next visit

So I really hate to do this because it's really not my style but I don't do too well when I feel like people are trying to take advantage of me.
I had a wonderful massage this morning at ©soakspadet, the spa located in the basement of Othedetroitclub. As part of any service you have access to the grotto and sauna for 2 hours.
To my surprise, the massuse told me that the grotto was down AFTER my massage was finished. When I went to ask the front desk staff, they informed me that it's been down since last evening. If that were the case, I should have been informed prior to my 10am appointment.
This seems to be a reoccurring issue as I booked an appointment for my mother last month and she was told the same thing. So I thought they would surely tell me prior if any of the amenities were unavailable but they failed to do so.
The receptionists seemed to be unsure of how they were to move forward. One stated that I could come back to use the grotto for 2 hours and the other argued that it wasn't allowed. After entirely too much deliberation, with each other and with me, she gave me a discount. Overall, they were very dismissive and lacked empathy to the empathy at hand.
As someone who has worked in the service industry, I can understand how difficult this must be on them. But I never thought I would receive such poor service from a place with this reputation.

If you are a massage therapist, you should know the difference between a swedish massage and a deep tissue massage.. I went back and forth for 10 minutes trying to explain to the therapist that I wanted a sweetest massage. She kept giving me a deep tissue massage and after 10 minutes of going back and forth with her I requested to get my money back because I was over it. I didn't want nobody else to touch me. I just wanted my money so I can leave. They did not want to refund me my money. If I was you I will make sure that these people that work for this place have a license. I don't believe that they have a license. They just hire people off the street...
