Mustard Seed Massage

The massage was nice and the therapists were very friendly, however there's clearly a lack of communication across staff. I booked a couples massage over the phone and requested one deep tissue and one Swedish. On arrival they seemed confused and asked me several times if my name was Aaliyah... it's not. The waiting room was not a relaxing atmosphere as the receptionist was clearly in a bad mood. Once they finally found my reservation the therapists took us back to the room and didn't give us any preparation info instead just telling us to lay down. This lead to my partner and I getting opposite massages from what we requested. Also, the ambiance in the massage room was not very relaxing. Every time a therapist walked away the speakers playing calming music would cut out as they were obviously connected to Bluetooth. We had to ask the therapists to turn down the lights as well because they almost left them on full fluorescent brightness. After realizing our massages were switched I attempted to speak with the receptionist and he brushed me off saying that no matter the massage the price would not change. Then I spoke to the manager over the phone who was not helpful as she tried to convince me that deep tissue and Swedish were the same thing. Overall disappointing, especially for $300...

It's clean! The people are nice. The shower has a good pressure. Uhm nothing too special to me. I think I enjoyed the therapists at the other location way more. The guy wasn’t bad just the techniques and stuff didn’t do it for me the way nahila at the other location did. Didn’t feel like super relaxed after, don’t think I fell asleep- it just wasn’t that great unfortunately. Showed and sauna are cute! Great add ons.

Solid massage! I’ll be back! We did a couples massage (kinda funny they confused our names but that’s not a big deal haha). Therapists did a great job on both of us. No complaints on the service at all - just wish there were some amenities in the space - like hanging out in a relaxation space after the massage while you drink water (there is a salt room but that’s an extra service) or a sauna for beforehand or something (that would make is an easy 5 stars for me)! The lobby is nice - we sat there for a moment to drink some water. I am looking forward to trying more of their services.

Crystal was so nice and professional. She gave, honestly, one of the best Swedish massages I've had in a long time. I had a 90 min massage, but I wish it were 120! I'll be back for sure.

Timothy (my masseuse) was amazing. All of your masseuses at Mustard Seed are great, he's the best. I especially appreciate the ease of making same day appointments.

My daughter and I were visiting from out of town and needed a little self care/massage and decided to try this place (Capital Hill location). It was a nice clean, relaxing environment. The people are pleasant and professional. Would recommend 👍🏾

Receptionist with no knowledge of massage options. Not even a proper greeting. The place is nice and warm and relaxing tho, still nothing special. Pretty average. I asked for a mix of deep tissue and sports massage but got only the first and at a very subpar standard. She seemed to be new to this profession - was using loads of lotion and the pressure points were off. I needed another massage after this, something felt trapped in my muscles. Maybe booking someone an hour before they close was not a good idea? Definitely not going back there.

My therapist Alexis was absolutely amazing! She gave me an integrated massage experience and intuitively addressed the issues I was experiencing without my having to direct her. Alexis is easily the best therapist I've ever experienced and I am a massage professional. Her energy and expertise is unmatched in my opinion.
