Stephanie's hair salon on 52 Pleasant street, portland, Maine, is the worst experience i have ever had!! First, i booked an appointment at 10:30am with the owner herself. Got there on time and they kept leaving me to finish other people's hair. My hair wasnt done until 20:05 pm!!! She doesn't care for her clients. Especially if she doesnt know you🙂. She didnt even come to apologise or anything. She kept looking at me like nothing!! No professionalism.at all!! And the hair was done by someone who didnt even know what she was doing!!! They so greedy accepting appointments they can not meet on time! Stephanie get a grip!! Without customers you wouldnt have a business! Definately not going back.😏😏

I LOVE this salon. It has such a quiet, peaceful atmosphere, I immediately felt comfortable. All the plants make it feel like you're in a serene garden, and it's so calming. Jenn asked me lots of questions about my hair, and really listened to my ideas of the overall look I was aiming for. She didn't once make me feel bad about my overgrown, self-done wolf cut. After much discussion and looking at inspo pictures, followed by some magical hair treatments that smelled amazing, she gave me an utterly beautiful haircut. I can't stop checking it out in the mirror, and it makes me happy every time! She worked with my hair's natural tendencies to create a style that can help me look like a financial professional during the week, and still lets me morph into a tree hugging dirt worshiper on the weekends. It's perfect.

Brittanie did a great job washing and straightening my hair. It feels so soft and the whole experience was really enjoyable. The salon is also freighted with houseplants which I love!

Absolutely beautiful lounge area and salon as a whole, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Wavey was so, so lovely and made for amazing conversation where I'd usually feel awkward and not talk to my stylist at all! She was so kind and welcoming and we had a great chat, and she left me feeling AMAZING about my hair, truly my best salon experience yet and my style is a total 10/10, she ate! 🤌🏽✨️💕

I've been coming to this salon I think for over a year now. I love my hairstylist, Sam! She has helped my hair recover so well from the most damaging haircare experience I ever had. She understands what my hair needs and really listens to me. I also enjoy our conversations during the appointments as I feel like I'm having a legit wholesome and welcoming experience. I don't feel othered or out of place as it's really hard to find salons here with curly and multi-ethnic hair knowledge. Thank you!

I went here recently for the first time after moving to the area and had been looking for a hairstylist. I'm so glad I found this place! I went in looking to do a big cut (from long hair to a layered bob with face framing pieces) and Wavey completely talked me through the whole process and was so kind and welcoming. She definitely achieved exactly the kind of look I wanted, and really listened to me. She was also incredibly knowledgable and gave me great advice on how to take better care of my hair and the kinds of products I should be using for my specific hair type. I highly recommend booking a consultation and appointment with her!

Wavey helped me correct a recent haircut that I didn’t like and made me love my hair again!! She clearly knows so much about hair and how to properly cut it. She taught me about my hair and cut it specifically to fit my lifestyle. Thank you so much 😊 (the atmosphere is also lovely)
