Hillsborough Spa and Day Retreat

My husband and I had the pleasure of a couple’s massage today. Nikki greeted us when we arrived and put us at ease immediately. This was our first visit so she gave us a quick tour and we were welcomed w calming music and a relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed a time in the infrared sauna and the steam room before waiting for our massage therapists, Rebecca and Jennifer, in the lounge. Our massages were outstanding. The therapists were attentive and sensitive to our every need. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed and were eager to book our next appointment. Do yourself a favor and book your own appointment now!!

Overall the intended atmosphere is great, but the massage and interactions with staff do not match the spa atmosphere. I couldn't wait to get out of there because there was nothing relaxing about it and then having to pay made for a traumatizing experience-I am posting my experience so others can avoid a similar experience! There seems to be a lack of professionalism among staff that was exemplified by the massage I received. While not the first massage I have gotten, this was the first time a therapist has actively breathed in my face and with bad breath. Did other staff not talk with this therapist and notice? Not to mention the therapist seemed to be recovering from a respiratory infection as evidenced by wet coughs. I was asked about my experience at check out, but I was traumatized and ready to leave the place. I did respond to an email about my experience and was met with thanks for the feedback and let's talk. I declined to chat further as to not relive the trauma, and I feel that they already took enough of my time/money and gave me only negative energy (and perhaps a respiratory infection!). As far as I know this is a professional spa and not a training spa, so they should be aware of how to provide the services they are in the business of offering. Therefore, be aware that this place does not treat you in a manner that justifies their prices or payment for their services. Costco on a Saturday is possibly a more relaxing experience than this 'spa'.

I’ve enjoyed two spa days at Hillsborough, one on the lower level and one on the upper. Both areas are beautifully curated with fantastic amenities and an array of luxurious spa treatments. I’ve had scrubs and hot stone massages… both are fabulous! I honestly need to book a retreat day without the treatments at some point, I could just spend all day in the sauna, steam, and lounges!

My husband gifted me with a massage & facial for my birthday and they were both wonderful! It was so peaceful and I was cared for from the moment I entered. Snacks, steam room, cucumber water…everything contributed to a fantastic day!

THEE best. if i had slightly poorer impulse control i would be here every day. staff is so kind and helpful, facilities are clean and well-maintained AND (now get this) they even have those little trader joe’s chocolate stars to snack on while you chill. the hboro day spa-branded hair ties are such a chic touch. will be recommending this place to every human being i know

I have visited the spa twice so far and I absolutely love it! It is a peaceful getaway with amazing amenities. I loved getting my massage then being able to enjoy the steam room, sauna, lounge, and steam showers. I recommend it to everyone!

My husband surprised me with an afternoon here for my birthday and it was absolutely perfect. I got a massage and a facial and both were fantastic. The entire staff was so welcoming and kind and they had so many extra things (sauna, snacks, soaking tub, etc.) to make your stay relaxing. I highly recommend!

GO HERE! You will absolutely not regret it! From the moment you walk in it’s like you’re walking into true bliss. Everyone in the staff and team cares for you fully! I was staying in Raleigh and wasn’t sure if I wanted to drive out to the center but this is now the ONLY place I will go when I’m in the area. Truly astonishing and unforgettable- like I said before… GO HERE!
