Head Spa St. Louis

This place was fantastic! Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The esthetician was very thorough and super sweet! The reason for three stars is because I was unable to experience the head spa pod due to being plus size. Instead, I had to use a traditional shampoo bowl, which was not the most comfortable for an 80 minute service. I will say the treatment guidelines say the pods cannot accommodate someone over a certain weight. Unfortunately I just don’t feel like I was able to receive the full effect of the treatment, but still paid the same price as someone who would be much more comfortable. So learn from my mistake and if you are plus-sized, maybe call and discuss with them first! I would definitely recommend, just so wish they were more inclusive.

Update: I am increasing my rating & updating the review because the salon owner reached out the next day (as stated in the response) and explained the situation & wanted to make it right. I really appreciated the quick response & transparency! Had an interesting experience here and to prevent myself from getting too wordy, I will make a pros & cons list. Pros: 1) Head spa treatment: is VERY relaxing. It was my first time ever doing something like that and it was worth the price for sure. Even though you’re not in a private space, the room is dark and they keep relaxing music on, so you don’t really notice. The treatment beds are comfy (a bit tight if you are plus size). 2) Haircut: was well done and stylist listened and double checked she was doing exactly what I asked for. 3) Eyebrow wax: was nicely done and was generously comp’ed due to scheduling issue (see cons). Cons: 1) Scheduling: I booked online 2+ weeks ahead of my treatment and even confirmed via text the week of. 1 day prior to my appointment I received a text and a voicemail that my appointment had been rescheduled to 2 hours later because the head spa was over booked. When I finally had a chance to return the call, they were able to keep me at the same time but had to change my service from the ultimate head spa to the basic. The person I spoke with wasn’t rude, but she also wasn’t super friendly and it felt like she was rushing to get me off the phone. They did offer to comp my eyebrow wax ($9.99) for the mistake which was nice. 2) Organization: It didn’t feel like the girls working there were on a team, like they were all just fighting for resources. As an example, a girl came in a few minutes after me and said she was VERY early for her appointment but her stylist was free. My stylist was wrapping up her previous client. She popped out to tell me she was just going to wrap up, clean the spa, and then bring me in. However, the free stylist ended up taking the open head spa for her (early) client leaving my stylist scrambling and having to dry cut my hair before the head spa treatment. So my services ended up starting 20 minutes late. 3) My stylist tried to take me to the Glo lounge for my eyebrow wax, but when she opened the door, there were boxes everywhere. So we ended up doing my wax in the dark treatment room with her using a lamp. 4) I ended up paying for but leaving without having my hair blow dried or style, because I as at the end of my appointment time and had somewhere else to be. I honestly just felt a little bit bad for my stylist, and perhaps I just caught the place on an off day? But if the owner was around, they weren’t doing anything to step up and make the day better. Not sure if I’ll go back yet or not, which is why I’m leaving 3 stars.

Not worth it! I Went there for the head spa experience. I was expecting a head massage for about a hour. Unfortunately I think I got that for maybe 1/2 hour. It wasn’t very good either. The water pressure was way too strong that it spayed in my face. They wore gloves, so the massage felt weird. The atmosphere was more noisy than it should have been. People talking and using a sink in the same room to wash who knows what. They gave me a face mask, that I really didn’t want. And I laid there for 5 or more minutes with no kind of service. They had massage chairs, like they have at a nail salon, not great!! I will not be going back there!!!

The best head spa I've ever been too. The massage was amazing and the customer service was the awesome. I will be back!! I hear they are going to be offering facials soon, I would be interested in this also- cant wait to book my first session!!

Head Spa St. Louis- Great Service. Professional. Clean. Welcoming. Update. I've been using some of the products for about 6 months and I'm seeing results with my hair loss.
