Hawaii Sanctuary by Saima Day Spa

My Fiance and I booked a couples massage on Sunday morning at 10:30 am. We arrived via uber at around 10:05 am and the door was locked. We waited for 5 min and the lady opened the door — “your early”, she said. We typically arrive 30 min early to our massages so we were a bit surprised, but not a big deal. Onto the massages and remaining experience: Pros: the couples massage room was sublime! Dim, a candlelit wall display and wonderful smells. It got us into a wonderful mood, ready to relax and bet these knots into oblivion. We booked a 90 min massage. Cons: I prefer firm massages, with stretching and confident hands. My male masseuse did not have the above. He was very kind and green, but it didn’t feel like he had much experience. Look, I’ve had mediocre messages, but my thing here was the general service and attention for a place that charges hotel-like prices. My Fiance had a better massage experience, for the record. Not her best she said, but good. I felt like I had to guide my masseuse and he seemed hesitant to massage me in the more private area (thighs, buttocks, lower back). This is part of the gig! As a frequent massagee, I expect my therapist to be confident and ready to take on my body. I did not get that feeling, and instead, felt hesitant hands. When we finished and came down for payment -- my male masseuse was the cashier. Not typical, but I get it, small business. However, I was not offered water, and the cherry for me, was the final interaction. While we were waiting for our uber, the same lady who opened the door for us (and massaged my Fiance) then came out and said they were closing for lunch. I told her our uber was close by but she proceeded to walk out. Mind you, they opened the doors when we arrived and went to lunch after our 90 min massage. Overall: The above reasons combined leads me to the 2.5 star rating. I felt like it would be unkind to speak on inexperienced masseuses publicly, but the final part of the lady moving us out while we waited for our uber, all for an early lunch, was the enough for me to provide an alternative perspective to other reviews. Great reviews considered, but experienced massagees be advised — ask for experienced masseuses upon booking.

Had such a fantastic treatment. Lovely ambiance, wonderful therapist for a nice deep tissue massage. She even helped me with my hips - which were giving me some pain after all the hiking in Hawaii! Definitely recommend - I came out of there fully relaxed and rejuvenated.

I had the most relaxing massage at Hawaii Sanctuary by Saima. Despite booking last minute, they went out of their way to accommodate us, ensuring we felt welcomed and taken care of. The staff was professional, the environment serene, and the massage itself was top-notch. We had a group of 5 with varying ages and they altered the massages for individual preferences. Highly recommend for anyone in need of some spontaneous relaxation! Vacations are fun but after this little slice of heaven we realized how exhausted we truly were. You can adjust your requested service based on your specific experience or preferences! Saima will be there with her amazing team to welcome you. We were all offered water, tea or Prosecco before and after our treatments. We also got great tips for local spots to purchase family farmed Kona coffee. Shop and support small businesses!

I booked a couples massage with Dylan and Jen and couldn't be happier with the experience. Both therapists were professional and talented. The couples loft was a warm, welcoming space. The massages were exceptional and it was an overall fantastic hour of bliss. I highly recommend Hawaii Sanctuary by Saima!

What can I say about this spa. My wife and I decided to celebrate our 30yr anniversary with a couples massage and it clearly was the right decision. As soon as we walked in through the door we were met with an atmosphere that immediately gave us a sense of calm and tranquility. Once upstairs we were greeted by an amazing peaceful room that was relaxing and inviting. Jenn was my masseuse and my wife was in very good hands with Bethany. 15 minutes in we knew we made a Mistake by not asking for the 90 minute massage. The combination of incredible and talented hands, Hot Stones and warm soothing towels along with aromatic scent of lavender we were clearly in the right place. Jenn’s elbows should be bronzed and inducted in the masseuse’s hall of fame. I cannot recommend Hawaii Sanctuary by Saima enough. You will not be sorry.

Wonderful spa! I booked a Lomi Lomi massage with aromatherapy + scalp hot oil massage, and 20/10 stars! Bethany was masseuse and she was wonderful, extremely talented with her hands. From the moment I walked in, until the end of the experience, every part was wonderful. They incorporated a lot of things to make you feel extra relaxed and comfortable including a quick sound bath ending to your massage. I will 100% return! Thank you again Bethany and Hawaii sanctuary day spa!

The best massage experience. Janaki is a great specialist and a nice person. I chose a procedure of dry brushing and massage. It was so relaxing and the quality of my skin after the treatment is amazing. Highly recommend and will come back for sure!

My husband and I came here for a couples massage on our honeymoon. The staff was super friendly right from the get go. They offered us beverages and brought us to our room (which had a very relaxing ambiance) to get comfortable before the massage started. The two ladies who were working on my husband and I were amazing! They both did such a fantastic job that we wanted it to last forever. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the Kona area!
