I’ve been a member at Hand & Stone for over a year now receiving both facials and massages and I always recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care! Tara is who I use for my facials here and I won’t see anyone else. Tara is the best at educating you on what she is using and what it is doing for your skin. I always have her look at my skin and tell me what she thinks I need and I’ve never left unhappy!
Cindy gives the best massages with focusing on your areas of concern and always going above and beyond for your specific needs. I highly recommend Hand & Stone to anyone in need of exceptional facials and massages!

Disappointed with Hand & Stone Carmel – Poor Communication and Unresolved Issues
My husband and I have had a very frustrating experience with Hand & Stone in Carmel. We gave them multiple chances to make things right, but ongoing miscommunications and a lack of accountability made it clear that customer experience is not their priority.
We had an appointment scheduled for our anniversary that was canceled without notice or explanation. When we called to reschedule, we received conflicting information. At one point, we were told our next appointment would be “waived,” but what that really meant was that our membership would be frozen—so we’d still be charged if we wanted a massage that month.
I tried to get clarification from the manager, but instead of helping, she abruptly ended the call. She even suggested we cancel our membership, despite the fact that we still have gift cards to use.
Unfortunately, we’ve had to repeat ourselves so many times, and each time the issue was handled inconsistently.
The membership terms sounded flexible when we first signed up, but in practice, it’s been difficult to access the services we’re paying for. I wouldn’t recommend this location—there are other spas that communicate more clearly and handle customer concerns more professionally.
We are going to give other locations a try and I will update this review in case anything changes.

I have had many massages all over the US. I think it is terrible to pay for an hour massage and only get 50 minutes to allow for changing and cleaning. It literally take 1-2 minutes to change. My massage was average at best and I felt like my therapist was hurrying to finish on time. To top it off, I then get pressured into joining their membership program. I said no thank you and it continued. “Why don’t you sign up and if you decide you don’t want it call back tomorrow and cancel”. Any stress reduction I received from my massage was right back with the pressure to join and become a member. I do have another gift card that was given to me, so I will try a facial, but after that I won’t be back.

You pay for a 1 hour massage and you get 40 minutes and the massage was not good at all. Place is a total rip off. When you go check out they keep asking you to get gift cards or sign up for a membership which ruins your experience even more. I do not recommend this place at all.

I was feeling really stressed and came in for a Swedish massage with Dana. She was so kind and made sure I was comfortable with what she was doing. She also was very knowledgeable about the bodies muscle groups and gave me a lot of informative information! She was very down to earth and you could tell how much she loved her job. The staff overall are amazing there, definitely go! They take great care of the people that go and it really turned my day around. (:

I called July 19th, 2024 to cancel my subscription. I was told it was cancelled. However, my card has continued to be charged monthly. I called again this past Tuesday and was told I would be contacted by the manager who has not contacted me. Please remediate immediately!

Maribeth was fabulous!! I highly recommend her and will return to her when in the area.
She was friendly and put me at ease right away. I bought several of the products that she recommended

The photo posted by the business from 8 years ago stating the starting price is $49 is no longer accurate. It is now $129 (but there is a one time introductory price of $79). Waxing can start at $15 per the website. This should be updated, otherwise this can be misleading. I wish Google had a better way to make this suggestion outside of having to post a review. But, the business needs to update their advertising so it matches today and not 8 years ago, since things have changed a lot since then. $49 vs $129/$79 is a significant difference.
