Anna and Ginny are the best!! I cannot thank them enough! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by Anna who checked me in immediately. I was super lucky to have booked Ginny for a massage and I'm so glad I did. I was super nervous about the whole process since this was my first time in a spa and I have terrible anxiety sometimes. I felt so welcomed and comfortable with Ginny. She asked questions to better understand my needs and targeted the areas that I have the most tension. I often feel guilty to treat myself to such things but never again, I felt so comfortable and at peace here. I left feeling like a human again, you really do walk in and float out. I'm definitely coming back and recommending this spa to anyone!!

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Japanese Head Spa treatment at Beneath The Surface Spa in Madison, and let me just say—it was pure magic. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was serene and calming, instantly putting me at ease. The treatment itself was nothing short of transformative. My scalp had never felt cleaner, and I had no idea just how much buildup had accumulated over time until it was all gently lifted away. It was like the weight of the world had been removed from my head! The process was not only thorough but incredibly relaxing, almost meditative. The soothing touch of the therapist combined with the expertly crafted techniques transported me to a state of complete relaxation. Every product used in the treatment was of the highest quality, and the scents were absolutely heavenly—fresh, subtle, and calming. It was as if each product had been chosen specifically to enhance the overall experience. I left feeling not only refreshed but truly rejuvenated, with a clean, balanced scalp that had been cared for in a way I’d never experienced before. I cannot recommend Beneath The Surface Spa enough, especially if you're looking for a way to pamper yourself and reset both mind and body. If you're in Madison, this is a must-try experience that I guarantee will leave you feeling as though you're floating on air. I’ll be back for sure!

I really loved going here, Melanie does a phenomenal job with my facial.Recently I booked a facial that I was so excited about because it was my birthday and that’s what I wanted to do with my day! Unfortunately I had an emergency and had to late cancel, I called to let them know and said I’m sorry can I move it and it got rescheduled for a few days later. Then, I got a call that they needed to re-book me because it was done incorrectly and they had no availability, which I was fine with, again I just wanted to get a facial for my birthday. Then I realized they charged me the full amount for canceling late. I understand a late charge of some kind as a policy, establishments should do that to protect their time, but emergencies happen and I was also totally understanding when they had to reschedule me. I was so upset by this as again this was what I wanted for my birthday and now I am paying for a facial I wanted to reschedule but will definitely not be paying for a second time. Its a shame because I really enjoyed my previous experiences, enough that I wanted to go there on my own birthday - but I won’t be going back sadly.

This is not a luxury spa by any means. The girls were very courteous, professional and friendly. I think the Japanese head spa treatment is something newer for this spa. They didn’t have a blow dryer on premise but they did provide a hair towel turban to wrap your hair with while leaving. I was honestly shocked. Especially when booking a package for $175, then leaving with wet hair to go out into the freezing cold; it is something that needs to be clearly stated on their online booking site. Also, my therapist was very inexperienced; poor thing, her hands shook as she tried to do my shoulder and neck massage; it was relaxing but I felt so bad for her the whole time.

Marcia is an awesome esthetician. I was asking her about my 11’s, crows feet and my chin. She said that I should do the Procell treatment and that would help. After my first treatment, I see a big difference! Thank you so much, Marcia! I will be back!

I have been a loyal customer for over a year and a half, and I cannot recommend this place enough! Melanie is excellent for facials. She is always professional and has extensive experience working with different skin types, including mature and Black/African American skin. Melanie takes the time to evaluate your skin's unique needs, and everything she has recommended has significantly reduced my fine lines and kept my skin glowing. Booking with her is very easy, especially online. Beneath the Surface is the place to book if you're looking for a top-notch facial experience with a friendly staff.

Hi! I love both the spa and blow dry bar. Marcia is a fantastic esthetician and can fix any skin concern or cosmetic issue! Elizabeth corrected a haircut I received a couple of months ago from a different stylist and gave me an amazing blow out that has now lasted 3 days no touch-ups! Love love love all the services!!!
