Today I had an amazing experience at Aveda Institute Des Moines . Sara Hammer took on my hair and as a lot of people who are close know i wear my hair up in a bun . I can’t take care of it like I want to because my wrist and thumb pain . And I can’t bring myself to cut it either
Sara listened to the problems I was having and gave me a deep needed wash and then blow dried my hair for me , and gave me some next steps to help me with my problems and keep my length .
My favorite part was definitely the shampoo and conditioning she was so gentle and having my scalp scrubbed felt amazing.
After experience , I can’t STOP touching my hair it feels so much better and clean . Every time i walk by a mirror I stop and look at it . I keep getting compliments. I truly have not felt this good about my hair in awhile . I appreciate her so much for taking the time to listen and help me .
Ladies if you’re going through something and need help and not be judged please make an appointment with Sara . Even before she started on my hair and it was all ratty I was still getting complimented on the length saying it was beautiful I truly felt welcomed .

Hannah James is AMAZING! She was so sweet and even helped me decide what I actually wanted. I came in knowing I wanted a “big” change to me (bangs) and then a simple haircut and she did such a good job on both of those! Knew the products very well and had good recommendations for hair types and care. Will absolutely be going back to her for future cuts and more! She’s just a very bubbly , sweet , and overall friendly !

Mary L did a FANTASTIC job on my hair cut and style. I’ve gone to Mary a handful of times and every time she delivers exactly what I am asking for. She does an amazing job at consulting me and talking me through what she’s going to do at the start of our appointment and throughout. Our appointments fly by because Mary is so personable and easy to talk to. My hair is the healthiest it’s been in years and I credit that to her precise cut and the products she uses. Mary is a perfectionist in the BEST way possible which always makes me feel the most confident when I step out of the salon. I recommend Mary L to anyone and everyone looking for an incredible cut or style!

My daughter Harlow is 13 and wanted to get a haircut for her thick curly hair. We went to Aveda and Ally M made her feel so relaxed and comfortable. Took her time and asked her all the questions and it turned out great. She keeps asking to go back, she is very shy so always happy to find someone who she feels comfortable around.

Joslyn M did full highlights on my hair and did a great job. She was also really nice. My hair did take forever as it’s thick but she wasn’t rushing and never once complained. I’d definitely recommend her.

I got my hair cut by Holly H. and she did an amazing job! I was overwhelmed with her amount of attentiveness and patience as she was working with my hair! Holly gave me a wonderful hand massage and a hair nourishing treatment during my appointment with her. It was EXTRAORDINARY. In all my time going to Aveda, i have never been offered treatment like that, so it was very exciting! Experience was 10/10, i would recommend her to do my hair again!

I went back to Holly H. again, for a Shampoo/Style! She was still just as courteous and polite, AND she gave me the cutest hairstyle. I wanted something cute to go with the outfit i had on that day and she killed it! She knew exactly what i wanted.
While i was there she offered me a facial, along with a hand massage and a neck massage. They were incredible. Every time i go to her, i get the best service i’ve ever received. 10/10.

I had a great time visiting Aveda institute today. I just wanted a wash and style. I have so much hair and I know it's challenging! Stephanie H. done a great job and had really good ideas and even made it fun :) I love what she did with my curls. Keep up the good work Stephanie!
