Anso Med Spa by ann+sofia beauty concept

I was underwhelmed by the aesthetic of the spa however decided to keep my judgment at bay until after the lymphatic facial/dermaplaning experience I had booked. Once I laid down to begin my treatment, I was immediately upsold an extraction add on. While I don't mind investing in such treatments, the treatments itself were very sloppy, rough and careless. During the cleansing process, pads were harshly zig zagged across my face without much thought or technique. My lash extensions were tugged at and completely ruined as the technician continued to arbitrarily wipe my face. The hydro extraction was a senseless sort of rough where I almost felt violated. This would foreshadow what would come next. The dermaplaning experience was also quite lacking in skill resulting in a nerve racking experience as it was clear there was no real technique in which the blade was sweeping across my face. I've experienced enough facial treatments to know when your aesthetician lacks skill and/or the experience you expect at $325. They switched technicians for the lymphatic facial and I hoped the experience would change but it remained sub par. She did one side of my face, showed me the mirror and expected me to be in awe of the difference between the two sides of my face. Unfortunately, I couldn't see a difference. I felt compelled to get up and leave at that point but didn't want to cause a scene. She finished up the other side of my face and proceeded to pile on a ton of sticky cream which she struggled to spread on. It was so thick, I had to ask for a towel to wipe the layers of product off my face. When I finally got in front of a mirror, I looked worse than when I had arrived. Red patches appeared where there once were none and I didn't feel like my beautiful self. You invest in these self care experiences and you expect to leave there feeling and looking better than when you arrived but this experience completely ruined my morning and made me regret choosing this establishment on a rare PTO day. The aesthetician could sense my disappointment so didn't charge me for the extraction add on and gave me a $81 discount on the lymphatic facial (although I believe this is a standard discount for 1st time customers which I was). I still ended up paying $184 which is a hefty sum for the sub par experience. I'm very confused by the positive reviews. This place is not it. I'd like a refund if the owner is reading this post. EDIT: I was immediately issued a refund which I greatly appreciate.

I had a lymphatic drainage facial a couple of days ago, and I am so happy with the results. My skin is visibly glowing, more bouncy, more firm, and super clear. The tech, I wish I remembered her name, suggested an extraction and I went for a baseline extraction, which I'd definitely recommend! My skin is and feels very clear and almost porcelain. She took so much time making sure to do a thorough job and definitely is experienced in providing outstanding service. She even gave me a little gift for deep acne and for my overall face. It was an incredible experience; I highly recommend and will be back.

The therapist gave me the most amazing facial and lymphatic massage. She massage parts of my face I didn't even know could be messaged. It was deep and I was drooling half the time. She followed with a head and full body massage. She's a knowledgeable, kind woman with healing hands! As a world traveler, it's the best massage of my life! I left walking on a cloud. (I'm still there) I will definitely be coming back every time I'm in NYC.

This place is a scam! Only if it was possible to give a zero star! This was one of the worst facials I have ever had, and I had many. I just came home from a 75 mins platinum HydraFacial and I am very upset. They asked at the beginning whether I'd like dermaplaning and I also wanted to extraction. They started with dermaplaning which took a minute only. They then moved onto extraction which took 2 mins. They then used the HydraFacial machine/equipment for less than 10 mins on my face. The remaining more than 60 mins they spent massaging my face and neck, so firmly that it hurt and I had to tell them to stop it multiple times. The treatment, according to their website, was supposed to include LED therapy but it was no where to be seen. I wanted to get out of there so badly that I didn't ask about the LED machine. I came home and all the black/white heads were in their proper place all over my face and I had to do the extraction my self! While doing the extraction, I realized they put a tinted cream on my face. First, they should have asked whether I use tinted products. Second, they had the audacity to say that my face was glowing at the end. It was definitely not glowing but when I put a tinted sunscreen, I know the effect it makes which they achieved with the tinted cream! $375 went puff to air. Never again! Update: Having seen my review, Sofia reached out and offered a complementary facial with her. When instead I requested a refund, she refunded me the whole payment which I very much appreciate. Therefore, I have increased my rating to 2 stars.

First and foremost this place is extremely professional in the way they handle their client’s. I got the deep cleansing facial with extraction and it was first time doing anything like this for my skin especially the skin on my face. At first I did feel a bit nervous but overall the entire time I was relaxed and process felt amazing with pores within my face being completely cleaned out. I learned a lot from the individual that did my facial cleansing as I know what skin type I have on my face and her recommendations on getting my skin more clear. I highly recommend this place for anyone that wants to get some sort of facial cleaning or any spa treatment for that matter.

My experience at Anso Med Spa was welcoming and relaxing. I had a lymphatic facial to reduce underye puffiness, Sofia's technique did wonders - My results are absolutely amazing! She explained the condition of my skin and recommended treatments to have continued glowing skin. I look forward to my next appointment!

I did the deep cleansing facial and Sofia was so thorough with my skin. I left the session feeling super fresh and clean. Sofia also followed up with me after the session to check in and answer any questions that I have. I’ll definitely come back for facials.
