Love love love getting my hair done here! I’ve been seeing Natasha for about a year now, and she continues to exceed my expectations every single time. That said, all the stylists here are incredible! I booked a last-minute appointment with Jonathan before I left for vacation, and not only did he absolutely nail my highlights, but he was also incredibly kind and welcoming.
What I truly appreciate about this salon is the way each stylist takes the time to thoroughly consult with you about your hair goals and how they plan to achieve them. Even if they’re juggling multiple clients, you never feel rushed or overlooked—something I’ve definitely experienced at other busy salons. I constantly receive compliments on my hair, and I can’t recommend this place enough.
Whether you’re seeing your regular stylist, an apprentice, or trying someone new, you're gonna leave feeling beautiful every single time.

Natasha is the best!! I had an absolutely horrible experience at balayage portland and went in to see Natasha for the first time to fix bleach bleeds, uneven highlights, and harsh lines in my blonde hair. First, she took the time to really listen and make sure she understood what I wanted the end result of the correction to be. She did such an amazing job and also took the time to educate me about products and wrote down everything she used on my hair for me. I could not be happier and can't wait to go back to her.

Akari was a fantastic choice for my wedding makeup. They were professional, responsive leading up to the date, and absolutely fabulous to work with. The stylists who came to my venue the day of were so responsive to each girl's individual style and vision. During my makeup, my stylist stopped at every point to make sure I was 100% happy. He knew how to create what I wanted and elevate it for my wedding day. They were receptive to changes and absolutely a dream for my wedding day. Everyone looked so beautiful and not at all overdone. The photos are amazing, we look natural but shining. I am so happy I used Akari for my wedding makeup I highly suggest them for anyone else. I also did my hair and makeup with them for my rehearsal dinner and again, they were incredibly wonderful and my stylist completely understood what I was looking for and executed it perfectly. I would 100% use Akari again for any other event in Maine!

After being recommended to Akari by a family friend, we hired their team for hair and makeup for our wedding. Akari was professional and efficient with hair and makeup. There were 10 of us and 4 of them to assist. They were responsive to feedback, detail-oriented, super personable, friendly, talented, and fun! They took the time to check my bridesmaids’ undertones to get the foundation right which was important to me as a bride of color. 10/10 recommend their services whether its for a wedding or you’re looking for a new stylist.

Zira and Stacy KILLED IT. I came in wanting to go darker, but was unsure of what I should do and zira was so helpful in educating me and coming up with a plan to achieve my desired look. Stacy did a fabulous job giving me the perfect layered cut. I have never left any hair salon feeling this confident about myself. Akari is truly the best.

I got my daughter a massage here for her birthday. The receptionist was very nice and helpful while setting it up.
My daughter said Anna was wonderful to her and took great care of her.
People wished her a happy birthday and she was even given a box with some free samples on her way out.
I feel like they took great care of my daughter and gave her a great experience .
